Easter at Genesis Co

The story of Jonah and the great fish provides a powerful picture of Easter's meaning. When Jonah fled from God's call to preach to the wicked city of Nineveh, God used a great fish to preserve him for three days and nights, foreshadowing Christ's three days in the grave. Just as Jonah emerged to bring salvation to Nineveh, Jesus rose from the dead to offer salvation to all humanity. This story reveals God's relentless pursuit of the lost and his ability to use imperfect people and extraordinary circumstances to accomplish his purposes. No matter how far we've strayed or what we've done, God actively pursues us through the cross of Christ.
