Easter at Genesis Co

The story of Jonah and the great fish provides a powerful picture of Easter's meaning. When Jonah fled from God's call to preach to the wicked city of Nineveh, God used a great fish to preserve him for three days and nights, foreshadowing Christ's three days in the grave. Just as Jonah emerged to bring salvation to Nineveh, Jesus rose from the dead to offer salvation to all humanity. This story reveals God's relentless pursuit of the lost and his ability to use imperfect people and extraordinary circumstances to accomplish his purposes. No matter how far we've strayed or what we've done, God actively pursues us through the cross of Christ.

Experiencing God: How far will God's Love go?

God's love reaches beyond our worst failures and deepest inadequacies. Through the stories of Carla Faye Tucker, a death row inmate who found Christ, and Moses, a murderer with a speech impediment, we see that God chooses unlikely people for His purposes. The key isn't our qualifications but God's capabilities. His primary desire isn't for us to perform for Him, but to be in relationship with Him. When we allow God to love us deeply, He transforms our weaknesses into strengths and invites us into His mission.

Empty Vessels, Extraordinary Works

Many of us ask God what we can do for Him, but the better question is: What is God doing, and how can I join Him? God doesn't need our abilities as much as He needs our availability. Jesus, despite being God in human form, chose to live in complete dependence on the Father, doing nothing apart from what He saw the Father doing. When we surrender as empty vessels, God works through us in ways that often offend human nature and challenge the status quo. The foundation for being used by God isn't our talent or capability, but our willingness to cultivate a love relationship with Him and make ourselves completely available to His work.

Experiencing God: Talent or Surrender

True spiritual effectiveness comes not from talent or ability, but from complete surrender to God. Abraham's story demonstrates this principle perfectly - at 75 years old, he left everything familiar to follow God's call without knowing the destination. God intentionally gives us partial revelation to keep us dependent on relationship rather than focused on the mission. The key question isn't whether you're working for God, but whether God is working through your surrender. Your obedience today has eternal significance and generational impact that extends far beyond what you can imagine.
